Gateway to Work is a free digital careers programme that gives you all the tools you need to smoothly transition from education to the workplace, even if you're not sure what you want to do yet.

Through five engaging modules, inspired by the Gatsby benchmarks, you’ll go on a journey of self-discovery where you’ll learn all about the labour market, improve your employability skills with our digital work experience and develop a winning CV so you can find and land your first job.

Each module is jam-packed with helpful videos, engaging activities and rapid-fire quizzes to help you prepare for the world of work.

Gateway to work includes five key modules to help you build the skills, knowledge, and confidence you need to kick-start your career the right way.

Module one: Working on you

You’ll reflect on who you are, your values, mindset, strengths and weaknesses. You’ll also discover the employability skills you already have and identify the ones you need to develop. You’ll build strategies to manage your wellbeing at work and explore ways to navigate workplace relationships, including how to ask for and deal with feedback from future managers and colleagues.

Module two: Digital work experience

You’ll explore what it's like to work in different roles through a range of digital work experiences at real companies. With 18 work experiences to choose from you'll get to complete real tasks from a variety of different sectors including Brand and Marketing, Human Resources, Customer Experience, Catering, Sales, Care and many more.

Module three: Choose your pathway

You’ll discover the different work, training, and further education options available to you and reflect on the pathway you want to take.You'll also get access to the latest labour market data to help you make decisions about your future.

Module four: Upskill in your field

You’ll focus on the skills you need to prepare for work and the different ways you can develop them, from academic routes to practical pathways.

Module five: Get ready to work

You’ll learn everything you need to know to land your first job, from advice on how to write a winning CV to how to search for a job. Get tips to help you nail your first interview and benefit from exclusive access to an AI-powered authentic mock-interview experience, which uses a tool that is already being used by employers across the world to recruit thousands of candidates, including Iceland and Qantas Airways.

This course is for school, college, and university students, or anyone else who’s just completed their education and wants to understand their career options, learn about the world of work and develop their skills so they can land their first job.
